bio.
Hunter Amos, (b. Australia) a fine artist from rural New South Wales, holds a unique voice in the art world of New York City. After attending Parsons School of Design, Amos has pursued his work out of his Bowery studio, expanding his practice from portraiture into abstract figuration and materialism. Infusing each piece with a revitalised significance through dynamic compositions, intricate abstractions, and nuanced juxtapositions of form, his practice explores selfhood with societal relations. The integration of diverse materials, such as cement, plastics and sand, with classical painting mediums has been a defining aspect of his oeuvre, yielding works that are both visually stimulating and texturally immersive. Amos’s practice is defined by a constant push against the boundaries of perception, inviting viewers to engage deeply with his work, encouraging a dialogue that explores the intricate layers of meaning beneath the surface. Through his innovative use of form and medium, Amos crafts pieces that not only question and provoke but also celebrate the complex interplay of such experiences.
